erin o'neill has been taking photos since her first Kodak camera in grade school. It wasn't until 1993 that she began photography in earnest. In 1998 she won the prestigious Phelan Award in Photography for her Gender in Bathrooms series.

She has also been documenting culture in San Francisco on the web site: MadKats. Her color, mostly digital, documentary work can be seen there.

The world of computers and especially the internet has been fascinating erin o'neill for a long while now. She spent years talking about email and this new thing "The Web" for long enough for friends and family to think it some science fiction story. Luckily, they are all online these days. UNIX is her favorite world, with the Mac a close second. And there is nothing like a database to get her going off. You can check out her resume.

O'Neill's portfolio is here.

All Images on this web site are for sale. They are all hand printed on fiber paper and selenium toned for archivalness. The portfolio is only a small taste of the images that o'neill has made.
